Hi there,

Did you get a chance to read my essay Do I Have to Be Understood to Take Up Space? This essay about learning how to be seen resonated with more people than I anticipated when it was initially published on Substack. Now, I’m excited to share that it is available as a zine!

This mixed media zine includes the full essay. It took three weeks to design and create the analog collage backgrounds because I only had 2-3 hours and limited energy during each crafting session. It certainly tested my patience because I wanted it to be done within hours. It takes time: trusting that an idea has real potential, picking colors that complement each other, waiting for the paint and coffee covered papers to dry…

Just trust the process, friends.

(I can’t forget to include entertaining my kid each time he comes into the bedroom-studio and bribing him with the opportunity to use what he considers to be fancy art items if he gives me another 20 minutes.)

As always, it’s always fun to find new ways to share my writing and explore other creative mediums! Enjoy this new zine in my digital collection.
